Joy Pizzoferrato

Joy Pizzoferrato (Wilson), age 70, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024. Born in Akron, she grew up in Suffield and lived most of her life in the Akron area. Joy graduated from Field High School graduating class of ‘72. Joy’s favorite pastime was gardening, visiting garden centers, sitting on her deck watching the bluebirds and other creatures come and go. She enjoyed spending time with family, including their dogs, shopping, and good music. 

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Eileen Wilson; brothers, Terry and Rick Wilson; and her husband, Domenic Pizzoferrato. She is survived by her son, Toby Ratliff (Christine); grandchildren, Eleanor Ratliff and Ian Ratliff; her brothers, David Wilson (Alpana), Brian Wilson (Becky), and Ron Wilson (Susan); and her partner Currie Wartman.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home in Akron, with a service immediately following. (547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312). Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery Chapel.
