Jouan M. Goebelt

Jouan M. Goebelt, 83, went home to be with the Lord March 3, 2014.

Born in Akron, Ohio Jouan resided in Parma Heights for nearly 20 years before she and her husband Frank returned back to Jouan’s hometown. She graduated from East High School and was employed in retail sales for 54 years before retiring. Jouan enjoyed reading, and most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Uland; husband, Frank O. Goebelt; and daughter, Eileen M. Uland; Jouan is survived by her son, Edward J. (Kathy) Uland; daughters, Marilyn Mickelsen, Charlene Goebelt and Kathleen Wamsley; loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2580 Berne Street, Akron, Ohio 44312, with Father Michael Williamson presiding. A private interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
