Joseph L. Colosetti, 94, lived a full and eventful life before passing away December 19, 2015.
He was born on September 20, 1921 in Akron and graduated from East High School. Joseph worked at Thacker’s Hamburgers as a young man, and then became a Right-of-Way Agent for Ohio Edison where he retired in 1984 after 31 years of service.
He was a decorated WWII veteran where he courageously served our country in the 99th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. One of the many battles in which he fought was the Battle of the Bulge where he was awarded many medals for his service, including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Joe was a very giving man, a great family provider, an avid bowler, champion amateur golfer, card player, and gardener before and after his retirement.
Preceded in death in 1997 by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Frances (daughter of Freeman and Nellie Wilford). Also his parents, Louis and Mary; siblings, Harriette, John, Olga and Lawrence; and many in-laws. He will be deeply missed by his loving and caring daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Rory Graal; and his “Pride and Joy” granddaughter, Toriane Graal; sister, Helen Wadyka; many wonderful nieces; nephews; and in-laws. The family would like to thank the Stimpfel Drive neighbors for all of their love, support, and watchful eyes over the past 18 years, as well as the kind nurses who cared for him these past few weeks.
Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) with the funeral service immediately following.
