Jon R. "Big John" Lueck, 48, passed away March 30, 2012.
He was born in Akron, was a life resident of the area and had served in the U.S. Army. Jon was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 10 years and was a member of United Steel Workers Union Local #2.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Karenl and daughter, Kaylyn Lueck. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lori A.; son, Joshua C. (Amanda) of MA; daughter, Nicole (Adam) Hale of Akron; and granddaughters, Jaileace and Daniela Lueck; brothers, Terry (Nena) Kesling of Akron, Mark (Debbie) Lueck of Canal Fulton, and Chris (Angela) Lueck of Akron; stepmother, Annette Lueck of Munroe Falls; stepbrother, Mike Chastain of Stow; step sister, Vickie (Greg) Oldtman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Gloria Polinger; many nieces and nephews.
Jon's big heart led him to the decision to be an organ donor. This last gift will help countless others. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be forever missed.
Memorial services will be held Saturday 1:00 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Reverend Fleary Spurlock officiating. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
