John M. Pastor

John M. Pastor, age 51, went home to be with the Lord on December 10, 2014.

Born in Akron, John graduated from Springfield High School in 1981, and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron. A resident of Uniontown, he was employed with the University of Akron, and attended Maranatha Bible Church. John enjoyed traveling, gardening and taking care of his home, but most of all he loved being with his family.

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Debbie; son, Tyler, a student at the University of Akron; daughter, Rachel, a senior at Lake High School; parents, Robert and Mary Pastor; brother, Mark (Teresa) Pastor; special cousin, Sharon Lukacik; mother-in-law and father-in-law, C.C. and Janice Bittner; sister-in-law, Carol Bittner; brothers-in-law, Tod (Melissa) Bittner and Dan (Nikki) Bittner; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
