John G. (Iain) Cunningham

John (Iain) Cunningham, age 82, is absent from the body and present with the Lord on May 16, 2013.

Born in Scotland, he lived in Akron most of his life. Mr. Cunningham was employed with Babcock & Wilcox, and retired from Prospect Mold & Die after 38 years of service. He was a member of The Chapel in Green and Akron since 1972, and also attended Grace Bible Church. He was saved by God’s Amazing Grace in Scotland as a teenager.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Peggy Cunningham; and wife of 61 years, Margaret. He is survived by his sons, Derek (Becky), Les (Debbie), Terry (Cheryl) and Dean (Cathy); 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Jan) and Bill; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), with Pastor Jerry Harpool officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
