John W. Horn

John “Johnny” Wesley Horn II, 100, of North Canton went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2023. Johnny was born and raised in Akron, OH. He lived in Orange County, CA for 28 years before moving to New Baltimore, OH and later North Canton, OH.

Johnny enjoyed traveling, tinkering, learning about new technology, and spending time with friends and family. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in his late teens and the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a technician at Hughes Aircraft Company in southern California before retiring back home in Ohio. Johnny spent his later years as a member of Evermore Community Church of Hartville. He spent his last days showered in love by friends and family.

Johnny is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Janice, son John W. Horn III, his parents John W, Sr and Myrtle Vallie, and his sisters Marguerite and Hazel. He is survived by his three children Rebecca (Gary) Palmer of Cincinnati, OH, Daniel Horn of Los Cruces, NM, Melissa (Scott) Reinhart of Uniontown, OH; daughter-in-law Yolanda Smith (Mike) of Lone Grove, OK; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, June 24^th from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW Uniontown, OH 44685. Funeral service will begin at 3 pm. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
