John A. Cirullo Jr. “Papa”, age 71, passed away April 16, 2015 after a hard fought battle with kidney failure.
Born in Litchfield, England to John and Barbara Cirullo, he graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1962, where he met Emma, the love of his life. John was employed as an Iron Worker with Local 17. In 1983 he founded Cirullo Steel, and his legacy lives on in the Cleveland skyline. John lived a full life; he enjoyed traveling, classic Corvettes, and above all else, spending time with family.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, John Cirullo III; and granddaughter, Danielle Underwood, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Emma; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Borrell and Tina (Bob) Underwood; grandchildren, Britney (Justin) Mautz, Lauren Cirullo, Robbie Underwood, Sam Borrell, Brandon (Kasey) Borrell and Eric (Samantha) Borrell; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Lana and Bryce; daughter-in-law, Traci; brother, George (Sharon) Cirullo; sister, Leona (Bob) Cirullo Senn; and his constant sidekick, Buddy. Thank you to the nurses and techs at DaVita Dialysis in Munroe Falls for their years of love, support and laughter.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in c/o Danielle’s Dolls, 676 S. Munroe Road, Tallmadge, OH 44278.
