Joanne E. Mauller

Joanne E. Mauller (nee Petty), age 87, passed away peacefully January 28, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born in Uniontown to Otis and Betsy Petty and was a lifelong area resident. Joanne attended the Millheim Baptist Church. She was a dedicated homemaker always putting the needs of her family first. Joanne cherished the time she spent babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for helping others and for many years she collected for the March of Dimes. Preceded in death by her husband, James; granddaughter, Sunshine Stratos; two brothers; and three sisters; she is survived by sons, James (Louise), Robin, Randolph (Rhonda) and John (Carolyn); daughters, Patricia Daniels (Jay Mobley), Rebecca (Joe) Stratos; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joanne’s children would like to thank the staff of the Hospice Care Center for their loving care of Joanne and her entire family during her illness. Friends and family will be received Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron/Ellet, Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Rockish officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
