Joan Leslie Young (Robinson)

Joan Leslie Young (Robinson), age 72 of Akron, passed into eternal rest peacefully with her family by her side on October 9, 2018. Joan showed her strength and love for her family and friends while fighting a long battle with cancer. Even through tough times she taught us to embrace happiness and enjoy the days we have with family and friends. She retired from Plastic Card Inc. to pursue her real passion of caring for her grandchildren, husband and home. Joan was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Aunt. Preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Robinson and Dreama Robinson-Spiker; husband, Ray Young; son, Douglas Young; and brother, Darrell Wayne, Joan is survived by her daughter, Patti (John) Stubbs; grandchildren, Joe (Stephanie) Stubbs, Keith Stubbs, Megan Young and Taylor Young; sister, Judy (Mark) James; step father-in-law, Clifford Spiker; and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Hospice of Summa, especially Megan and Shavonne, for their loving care of Joan. Friends and family may call Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Friday, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where Funeral Service will begin Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Teri Arnold officiating.
