Jerome R. "Bobby" Whited

Jerome R. “Bobby” Whited, age 81, passed away on January 11, 2017 at his home of a broken heart. Born in Swords Creek, Va. to Jerome B. and Ruby Whited, he lived in Richfield, Ohio most of his life. Bob retired from Consolidated Freight after 33 years of service. He enjoyed cars, especially his Corvettes. Bob loved his grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered by his family as the most simple and kindest man they have ever known. Preceded in death by his wife, Peaches; brothers, Jack, Don, Jerry, Roger; and sister, Vera. He is survived by sons, Thomas (Eileen) and David (Stacy); daughter, Connie Bates; eight grandchildren; and sisters, Corine (H.L.), Geneva (Leo) and Patty. Funeral service will be Monday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312 with Pastor Kim Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends and family will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday, from 12 to 1 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Doylestown United Methodist Church, 153 Church Street, Doylestown, OH 44230.
