Jennifer Marie Waszil-Abshire, age 44, is now in Heaven with the angels.
Born in Akron, she lived in the area all of her life. Jennifer reached her highest potential, graduating at the top of her class from the University of Akron with a Masters Degree in Special Education, and later earning her Principalship. Always relying on her faith to guide her path through life, she excelled as a Special Education teacher in the Akron Public Schools since 1999, where she possessed a gift to reach children when no one else could. Jennifer was always seen with a smile. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, taking long walks, and most importantly, being with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her grandfather, John Waszil; and uncles, Paul and Jonathan, Jennifer is survived by her parents, Martin F. and Susan Carroll; brothers, James (Staci Triplett) Waszil, and Jonathan (Crystal) Wolverton; grandparents, Helen Waszil and David Hartley; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A graveside service will be held Saturday at Hillside Memorial Park, with the funeral procession departing from the funeral home at 11 a.m., Rev. Staci Triplett-Waszil officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Jennifer’s name to Sister Jerome’s Poor, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield, OH 44406.
