Jeffrey J. Schutt

Jeffrey J. Schutt, age 57, passed away on March 11, 2014 as a result of an accidental fall.

Born in Akron, Jeff lived in Canton for the past 25 years. He was a 1974 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and received a business degree from the University of Akron. Jeff was previously employed with Paine Webber and Key Bank, and was currently self-employed as the publisher of the “Senior Forum”. Jeff enjoyed car shows, golf, and boating, and loved to watch his daughter play sports. He was a member of Church of the Lakes, the Canton Chamber of Commerce, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2374 in Louisville.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Deborah; and daughter Kelsey, both of Canton; parents, Joseph and Joyce of North Canton; sister, Jill (Ken) Mathews of Canton; numerous nieces; father-in-law, Dave Shanafelt; brother-in-law, Steve (Teresa) Shanafelt; and sister-in-law, Diana.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, 6 p.m. at the Church of the Lakes, 5944 Fulton Drive, Canton, Ohio 44718, with Pastor Bryan George officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. Since Jeff was a cancer survivor, and served as past chairman for the Canton Relay for Life, his family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad Street, Canfield, OH 44406; or the Brain Injury Association of Ohio, P.O. Box 21325, Columbus, OH 43221.
