Jean L. Jones

Jean Lee (McKeown) Jones, age 84, died peacefully on November 21, 2013.

She was born in Akron, the daughter of Albert McKeown and Freda Shane. She graduated from East High School and attended Akron University. Jean was married to the late Claude H. “Bud” Jones, Jr. for 56 years. They resided in Uniontown. Jean helped Bud establish “Jones Delivery”, a moving company specializing in pianos and organs, which they owned and operated for over 30 years. Jean had a zest for life, a love for travel, a wonderful sense of humor, a hearty laugh, and many friends.

She is survived by her sister, Judy; her daughters, Jonnie Charlton, Claudia Bilbrey, Marti Dixon and husband Don; grandchildren, Mary Beth, Julie, Chris, Aaron, Shane, Sidney and Bonnie; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Jones; and sisters, Charlotte Reinhart and Tizzie Palmquist.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7 p.m. at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Uniontown, Ohio 44685. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aultman Compassionate Care Center, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708.
