Jay M. “Mickey” O’Neal, age 62, passed away July 17, 2014.
Born in Canton, he lived in the Akron area and Chattanooga, Tenn. most of his life and was owner of Pro Wire & Sound. Mickey was also a Music Pastor and was known as an accomplished vocalist. He attended Grace Bible Church, Portage Community Chapel and Grace Baptist Church (Tennessee).
Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen O’Neal; and sister, Delphene Reigle; he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cheryl; sons, Lammoth O’Neal of Fayetteville, N.C. and Josh (Jessica) Selden of Portage Lakes; daughters, Jaymeca O’Neal of Chattanooga, Tenn. and Jessica (Scott) Hosfeld of Green; ten grandchildren; brother, Joe (Kay) O’Neal of Farmington, N.M. and Ken (Marilyn) of Illinois; sisters, Ruth (Tom) Rauber of Suffield and Dolly Robinson of Rootstown. Mickey’s family would like to thank Dr. Roger Chaffee for his many years of devoted care.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Barry Shahan officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
