Janice Douglas Strassner

Janice Douglas Strassner, age 88, passed away February 2, 2019. Born in Akron, Ohio, Jan was a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Baldwin Wallace College and taught 21 years at Mogadore Elementary School. Jan volunteered for Akron Children’s Hospital for many years and enjoyed reading, playing games and crafts. Preceded in death by her parents; and sister; Jan is survived by her son, Doug (Angie); daughters, Cynthia (Mike) Caprez and Helen (Mike) Kurtz; three grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver MOGADORE Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), Mogadore, Ohio 44260, with Father Thomas McCann officiating. Friends and family will be received two hours prior to the service on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
