Janice"Jill" R. Smith (nee Feathers)

Janice "Jill" R. Smith, age 78, passed away November 24, 2021. Born in Akron, she graduated from St. Petersburg High School in Florida. She later moved back to Ohio and established her life in Uniontown, retiring in Barberton. Jill retired from Source One Mortgage as a mortgage banker, while also having success as a realtor and business woman. She was an avid bridge player, running her own bridge game and earning her Gold Life master award. She loved to go shopping and out to lunch with her friends. She was also a member of the First Church of Christ in Barberton. Jill was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Smith; parents, George W. and Della K. Feathers; and brother, George W. Feathers, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Smith Alder; granddaughter, Allison N. “Allie” (Zack) Beech; grandson, Ryan E. Alder; great-grandson, Finnley A. “Finn” Beech; and sister, Linda L. (Don) Futch. Friends and family will be received Saturday, December 4th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. with interment following at Hillside Memorial Park.
