Janet L. Keagy

Janet L. Keagy, 77, passed away June 2, 2023.

Born in Akron, she was a resident of Hartville. Jan graduated from Copley High School and worked for Motorist Mutual for 10 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, needlepoint, fishing, traveling, looking at her orchids, and watching the hummingbirds. She loved to watch game shows and tell stories, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence “Jim” and Lois Carpenter, and brother, Charles Carpenter. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronald J. Keagy; children, Jeffrey S. Keagy (Angela) and Kimberly S. Heaton (Robert); grandchildren, Derek A. Snyder (Stephanie), Daniel R. Snyder, Kaylee F. Snyder (Matt), Kari F. Snyder (Brian), Nichole Kissel (Drew), Autumn M. Heaton; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Broden, Bryler, Landen, Haliana, Jaxson, Grayson, Damian, Aeiliana, Carson, Cecelia; sisters, Susan Wolf (Steve) and Christy Burns (Scott).

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, June 14th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue), Uniontown, Ohio 44685. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org).

Anyone wishing to travel in procession to Ohio Western Reserve on Thursday, June 15th needs to arrive at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, Ohio 44312, by 9:45 a.m. The procession will be leaving at 10 a.m.
