James A. White Sr., age 71, passed away March 28, 2014.
He was born November 22, 1942 in Mogadore, Ohio to the late Johnny S. and Mary Lou White. Jim was a longtime and active member of St. Joseph Church in Suffield/Randolph where he was a permanent Deacon. He retired from B.F. Goodrich World Headquarters. Following his retirement, he worked at Queen of Heaven Church in Green, St. Matthews Church, St. John’s Church and St. Bernard’s Church of Akron while acquiring his Masters of Religious Education. He was also a member of the K of C at St. Joseph Parish and Management Accounting. Jim enjoyed spending his time with his family after retirement as well as traveling, gardening, tending his roses and feeding the birds.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy (Harrison); daughters, Lisa (Patrick) Franze and Susan (Allen) Agema of Randolph; and son, James (Cynthia) White of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Felicia, Alexander, Bruce, Caitlin, Dana, Nicholas and Victoria; great-granddaughter, Ari; sisters, Mary Ann White of Port Ritchey, Fla. and Donna (Rick) Hinkle of Akron; pets, Maxi and Mickey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260, with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the CHURCH from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and also Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Randolph/Suffield/Atwater Food Shelf at St. Joseph Church.
