James R. Rollence, age 83, passed away on September 3, 2018.
Born in Akron to parents, John and Anna Rollence, he lived in Green most of his life. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and graduated from the University of Akron. He was the owner/operator of LRM Engineers for over 50 years. Jim enjoyed golf, watching all Cleveland sports, and working on crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
Preceded in death by his wife, Gail S. Rollence; granddaughter, Nicole Anne Kaiser; and brother, John Rollence, Jim is survived by his son, James Rollence (Lora); daughter, Christine Kopriver (Mike); granddaughter, Kaitlyn Kaiser; and sister-in-law, Carol Koontz.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the “Earth Angels” of the 3 East Palliative Care Unit at Summa Akron City Hospital.
Friends and family will be received Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Katherine L. Osier officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at East Liberty Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
