James O. King

James O. King, age 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 27, 2017. He was born in Mogadore and was a lifetime resident. Mr. King proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He retired from Matco Tools after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Mogadore Fire Department for 20 years, serving as a Captain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jessie King; and sister, Mary Jane. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia; children, Bruce (Cindy) King, Brian (Anita) King and Marilyn Hotchkiss; grandchildren, Heather (Bryant), Lori (Russ), Ashley and Nick; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Hannah. Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Friday, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be Friday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Knepper officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
