James P. “Jim” Riedinger, 84, passed away June 28, 2012.
Born in Randolph Twp./Tallmadge, he was a life resident of the area. Mr. Riedinger was a school teacher for 52 years, retiring in 1992 after 41 years in the Akron Public School system. During retirement, he supervised student teachers through Kent State University. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he taught CCD classes for 22 years and was a Parish Council member for 15 years. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His leisure activities included playing euchre, having brunch with his retired friends, and church attendance.
Preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Russell Carlson; and grandson, Nathan Miller, Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dolores; daughters, Amy (Fred) Miller of Uniontown and Laura (Jeffrey) Sol of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa and Ethan Miller and Alice Sol; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd., Randolph, OH 44260, with Father Edward R. Wieczorek celebrating. PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Ave., MOGADORE from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.
