James E. “Jim” Pfaff, 75, passed away June 1, 2013.
He was born in Akron, lived the past 41 years in the Mogadore area and had served in the United States Air Force. Jim retired after 25 years as a Sergeant of Service with the Mogadore Police Department, the last 12 years of service with the K9 unit. He also served for 25 years with the Mogadore Fire Department and was the “voice of Mogadore” for 30 years. Jim was very dedicated to his village and his family.
Preceded in death by parents, Karl and Marjorie; he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; daughters, Penny (Scott) Hershiser, Debbie (Scott) Brown, Terri (Stephen) Mitchell, Jamie (R.J.) Bennett, Kim Hiatt, and Kelli (Brad) Loudin; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Karl (Barb) Pfaff.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route #532), Mogadore, Ohio 44260. Cremation will take place. Private inurnment will be held at the family’s convenience in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
