James B. “Jim” Hill, 68, passed away Sept. 5, 2012.
Born in Michigan, he lived most of his life in Springfield Twp. and the Hartville and Uniontown areas. Jim was valedictorian of the Springfield High School Class of 1962, and graduated with honors from the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He retired from McCoy and Associates where he worked as chief consulting engineer. Jim was a member of the Lake YMCA and Silver Sneakers. He especially loved baseball, the Yankees, and the music of the Rolling Stones and David Allan Coe.
Preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Betty Jane Hill, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra; daughter, Kellee S. Miller; son, James “Jim” Seevers (fiancée, Janette); six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bruce R. and Dennis N. of Green; sister, Kathy J. of Green; and special family member, Bev Telesz.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) with Pastor Rich Ferris officiating. Burial at Woods Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
