James E. Cromer, 60, passed away May 6, 2012.
Born in Akron, he lived most of his life in the area before moving to Medina. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hank Cromer and Marian Brophy; and brother, Charles; he is survived by sons, James, Jon, Justin (Mindy) and joe (Ashleigh); sister, Ozella Modarres; former wife, Jean Bradley; and two step grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday, 6 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron 44312, with Rev. Fleary Spurlock officiating. Burial will take place Monday, 1 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, where military rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
