Jacquelynn Hogue, 75, is dancing on streets of gold with Jesus, she was welcomed home with the Lord on November 22, 2022.
She was born December 17, 1946 to the late Warren Copeland and Marie Copeland-Lias. She hailed from Tennessee and lived most of her life in Akron, Ohio. She was a devoted member of The Chapel in Green. She loved Jesus and it showed in everything she did and said to the very end. She faithfully served her whole life from teaching Pioneer Girls to high school ministry to going on many mission trips. She shared her faith in India many times with a team from The Chapel. She loved traveling and the last few years had taken many trips around the world. She was a teacher and a school counselor at Akron Public Schools for 26 years but she didn’t stop after retirement. She subbed all the way up until this summer.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie (Daniel) Ball, Cheryl (Paul) Hartzfeld, Richard (Rebecca) Hogue; her seven grandchildren, Laura, Natalie, Cameron, Ethan, Emma, Arianny, and Ewan; her faithful cat, Rascal; loving family including her brothers, John (Melissa) Copeland, James (Cynthia) Copeland; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She has a family of women she did life with in her Bible Study, ABF, and all of her amazing teacher family.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 27th from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), OH 44312. The service will be held Monday, November 28th at 11 a.m. at The Chapel in Green, 1800 Raber Rd. Uniontown, OH 44685. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the India missions program, Good Shepherd India (gsi.org), that mom loved and was dedicated to.
