Jacob A. “Art” Hohl, age 81, passed away on March 3, 2016.
Born in Akron, he graduated from Coventry High School. Art was employed as a welder with Frank J. Stolitzka & Son and also as a ranger at Valley View Golf Course. He volunteered as a Boy Scout Leader and for the Core Group at Habitat for Humanity. Art served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the VA Air Force veterans. He loved to golf, bowl and fish and be outdoors, especially gardening.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Louise Hohl; and brother, Leo, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jayne; children, Colleen R. Hohl and Jeffrey A. Hohl; sisters, Elizabeth Ruttig and Jeannette Dugan; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Monday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Brian T. Nutt officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to Habitat for Humanity, 2301 Romig Road, Akron, OH 44320.
