Jack R. Walker
Jack left this earth peacefully in his sleep on January 6, 2017 in
the comfort of his own home.
He was born in Akron and grew up in the Kenmore/Barberton area.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Loella
Walker; his brother and best friend, Joseph Walker; and wife of 45
years, Marion (Brown) Walker.
He retired after 35 years of teaching at Stow High School and
during his retirement he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. He
recently celebrated 25 years of service at Sharon Country Club
where he worked in the clubhouse and enjoyed spending time with the
members and his fellow employees, especially Dwight Axtell whom he
truly adored.
Jack was a longtime member of the P&O Rod and Gun Club, enjoying
the mountains of Clearfield, Pa. He also spent many summers with
his family at Sandercock’s Camp on Rice Lake in Canada.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters: Laura Langwell, Lisa
Walker, and Karen (Mike McGhee) Gee; his grandchildren, Daniel and
Matthew Gee, and Joshua Baez; son-in-law, David Gee; and his special nephew,
Joey Walker (Cheryl) and their children; and all of his nieces and nephews in Florida.
Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m.
on Saturday, January 14th at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton
Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, with a celebration of life dinner to
follow.
