Jack L. Russell, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2019.
Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident. Jack retired from East Ohio Gas after more than 35 years of service, where he was an Emergency Technician. He was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church. Jack participated in coaching and playing softball in the Silver League. He was a member of the Hog Club and enjoyed riding his Harley, and also loved gardening and woodworking. Jack loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was a wonderful father, grandfather, and a great friend to many.
Preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara; and his son, Mark, Jack is survived by his sons, Scott, Randy (Beverly), Stephen (Heather); daughter-in-law, Barbara; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Don; sister, Georgann Witt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jack’s family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Sharron, for their love and support.
Friends and family will be received Monday, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, followed by a Memorial service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Dave Bogue officiating.
