Irene E. Laughorn

Irene Elizabeth Laughorn, 87, passed away peacefully to Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Born March 31, 1936 to Laurence and Anna Soos. She was a resident of Akron for 63 years. Irene attended The Chapel in Akron since 1962. She enjoyed attending bible studies at The Chapel. She worked at Harwick Chemical, Famous Manufacturing, and Bank One over the years. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; sister, Clara; and brothers, Bill, Larry, Johnny, and Alex. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, RaDonna (Andrew) Mair, Steve (Aimee) Laughorn, Julie (John) Cichello; grandchildren, Alex Mair, Tyler and Tanner Laughorn, Alexis, Anna and Trey Cichello; brothers, Frankie (Linda) Soos and Jim Soos; along with many extended family members.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, September 16^th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale St. NW, Uniontown, OH 44685. Funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
