Helen L. Castner, age 87, passed away on April 8, 2015.
Born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 7, 1928, Helen graduated from North High School and retired from Krispy Kreme. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping, “gallivanting”, and spending time with family.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille (Samuels) Worrells; son, James Ewing; granddaughter, Cheryl Lynn Ports; grandson, Scott Ewing; and brothers, Jack, Charles, Richard and William Worrells, she is survived by son, Charles and special daughter-in-law, Beverly Ports; daughters, Vicky Kanipes, Valerie Ewing and Karen Porter; grandchildren, David Ports, Anthony Brown, April Krabill, Jesse Ewing, Casey Ewing and Melissa Ewing; great-grandchildren, Haley Ports, Brook Six, Madison Ports, Russell Wolf, Kyan Ewing, Teagan Ewing, Sadie Kelley, Jackson Krabill, Jarrett Krabill, Grayson Krabill, and soon to be, Helena Brown; special sisters-in-law, Trudy Worrells and Dickie Worrells; and many special friends, nieces and nephews. Helen’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Summa Home Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
