Helen H Edwards (Mitchell)

Helen H. Edwards (Mitchell) went home to be with the Lord on April 22nd, 2021. Born in Harmony, PA on May 8th, 1928, Helen graduated in 1946 from Zelienople High School and moved to Suffield, OH. As a retiree, Helen enjoyed volunteering for the VFW bake sales, Altercare in Hartville, the Clothes Cupboard in Ravenna, Summit Villa in Tallmadge, and enjoyed working with the hot meals and funeral dinners for her church. She was also an avid Cleveland sports fan and loved spending time with her family. Helen was a member of the Suffield United Church of Christ, the President of the Suffield VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Mogadore VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she served as a past Poppy Chairman. Helen was also one of the first female Cub Scout leaders in Suffield. Helen is proceeded in death by her husband, Forrest Edwards; daughter, Joyce; daughter-in-law, Jane; and grandsons, Brian and Shane. She is survived by sister, Sally; sons: Dennis Treich, Tyson (Debra) Treich, Kenneth Treich, and Donny Treich; and her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: BJ, Dennis, Sarah, Theresa, and Robin; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Family and Friends are invited to attend to help honor Helen’s life on Tuesday, April 27th, 2021 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home at 3553 Northdale St Uniontown, OH 44685 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will occur on Wednesday, April 28th, 2021 at noon with one hour visiting prior. Burial will be immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery at 3657 Northdale St Uniontown, OH 44685 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Karin Wright officiating.
