Hazel Cruise Lancaster, age 94, proceeded into Glory to her Lord and Savior on June 5, 2013.
She was born in Starr, Ohio on Armistice Day, November 11, 1918 at 11:00 a.m. Hazel was a loving mother and devoted friend. A daughter of Jesus, she was a lifelong member of Hartville Church of God and a member of Apostolic Church of Akron, and also taught Sunday School. She loved her flowers and her garden, and is known for the Suffield chicken farm and orchard.
Preceded in death by her husband, Hermit (Lank) on October 15, 1997; as well as nine brothers and two sisters, Hazel is survived by sons, Jim Jarrell (Mary Lou) and Gary Lancaster (Julie); daughters, Rebecca Wright (Carl) and Clara Hanni (Dennis); nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Thanks to all the staff at GreenView Inn for the excellent loving care given to our mom, and to Summa Palliative Care nurses.
Friends may call at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, where funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
