Hazel Irene Hicks

Hazel Irene Hicks, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2016. 

Born in Alabama, Hazel lived in the Akron area most of her life and retired from Steere Enterprise. Preceded in death by her first husband, Clinton Hilley; grandson, Marvin Hilley, Jr.; and great granddaughter, Summer Goudy; she is survived by her husband, Fred Hicks; son, Marvin (Frances) Hilley, Sr.; grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Lepsesty, Jennifer Riggs and Karla (Michael) Goudy; great grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Goudy, Thomas and Hannah Riggs and Michael Lepsesty; sister, Claudell Veal; stepson, Tom (Mary Jo) Hicks; step granddaughter, Jamie Hicks. A special thank you to the staff at Altercare of Hartville for their loving care. 


Funeral service will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, with Pastor Ken Baker officiating. Friends and family will be received prior to the service on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron.
