Harvey M Ford

Harvey M. “Pete” Ford, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Mogadore on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born in Wood, Pennsylvania on December 20, 1925 to the late Custer and Olive Ford. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a photographer’s mate. Pete was retired from General Tire. He was a life member and past commander of American Legion Park Etter Post 452, life member of VFW Post 8487 and past president of the Mogadore Lions Club. Pete was also a lifelong member and past elder of Mogadore Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Dona Jean Ford. He is survived by daughter, Carole (Terry) Beall of Hartville; sons, Karl and Dale Ford of the home; grandchildren, Bridgette Gossett of North Canton, Eugene (Teresa) Hesson of Uniontown and Ryan (Nicolette) Beall of Massillon; great grandchildren, Hunter Gossett, Nicholas Hesson, Hannah and Harrison Gifford, Ryanna and Jase Beall; step brothers, Jack, Paul and Gary Ford of Pennsylvania. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, with Dr. Eugene F. Higgins officiating. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
