Harold Walter Wise “Corky”, age 88, passed away on August 3, 2016.
Born in Brimfield, he moved to Atwater at age 11 and graduated from Atwater High School. Harold was a farmer all of his life in partnership with his brother. He was also a member of Laborers Local Union #894 where he was a pipe layer. Harold enjoyed being outdoors farming and working with his animals, and loved spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by brothers, Ed, Paul, Elmer, Glenn, Chester and Earl; sisters, Mary Bolyard, Hazel Burt and Edna Smith; and an infant sibling, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Olive; sons, Gary (Karen), Tom (Katrina), Bill (Rhonda) and Larry (Pamela); daughters, Barbara and Janice Wise; grandchildren, Thomas “T.K”, Kirsten, Karly, Trevor, Bradley, Rochelle, William, Brittany and Larry; several great-grandchildren; brother, Harry (who turned 100 this year) and Alfred (Mivy); and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be Monday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Atwater Cemetery.
