Harold E. Snyder, age 84, passed away at home on April 14, 2014.
Born in Akron, he lived in Uniontown most of his life, graduating from Springfield High School in 1950. Harold retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1984 after 38 years of service, and was a member of Springfield Church of the Brethren, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed antique cars and NASCAR, and also worked on the “Green Monster” with his brothers. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his loving family.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Mabel; three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his children, Deborah Kisner, Victoria (David) Pavlovich, Robin Shook, Steven (Darla) Snyder and Susan (John) Coleman; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Rita) Snyder and Frank (Marilyn) Snyder; sisters, Jenny Jackson and Hazel Lemons; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at Springfield Church of the Brethren, 3500 Albrecht Avenue, Akron, OH 44312, with Pastors Tom Michaels and Kris Hawk officiating. Friends may also call at the church from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the church.
