Harold Leon Shaub

Harold Leon Shaub, 86, passed into the hands of his Heavenly Father on July 7, 2014.

Harold was a member of Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday school for many years. Loving the Lord gave him a quality of life we should all aspire to know. It guided his every word, every step and every life he touched. His daily devotions and reading of the Bible kept him accountable. Always a kind word no matter who you were, and a man you could find yourself loving no matter how brief your encounter.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou; three brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law; he is survived by his five children, Dorothy Dennison, Kathy McCombs, Janet (Gary) Smith, Robert (Mary) Shaub, David (Sherri) Shaub; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren, whom all blessed his life immensely. Our family would like to thank the staff at Orchards of Ridgewood for his many years of wonderful care. As for his last few months of life, a huge thank-you to the excellent staff at Copley Healthcare Center. There are so many of you that became a very special part of his life in such a short time, and each one of you know who you are! AGMC Hospice VNS Service truly got our family through his final hours, what a blessing you all have been.

The family will receive friends Thursday, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312. A memorial service will be held Thursday, at 7 p.m., with Pastor Jonathan Carey officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northeast Ohio Medical University, c/o the body donation program, 4209 State Rt. 44, Rootstown, Ohio 44272.
