Harold “Pete” Kline, age 95, of Suffield, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 6, 2018. Pete was born on July 21, 1922, in the same farmhouse where he lived his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Jennie (Wise) Kline; sisters, Dorothy Cook and Betty Wolf (Bob); brother, Albert Kline; son, Rick Kline; and son-in-law, Rick Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane (May) of 67 years. They were married at St. Joseph Church in Randolph. He is also survived by children, Barb Jones of Green, Jane (Don) Benner, Margie (Shel) McDougal, Ron Kline, Russ (Traci) Kline and Laura (John) Heater, all of Suffield. He leaves behind ten grandchildren, Greg (Lindsey), Paul (Carolyn), and David (Karen) Benner, Sara Jones (Ben) Schreiber, Nathan Jones, Doug and Jeff (Kate) McDougal, Jessica and Matt Heater, and Andrew Kline; as well as seven great grandchildren, Rachel, Jack, Meredith, Kathryn and Daisy Benner and Lindsay and Adam McDougal; brother-in-law, Jim Cook; in-laws, Don and Dolly May and Ray and Shirley Rodenbucher; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pete attended St. Joseph School and Suffield High School. His calling was to the family farm, where he spent a lifetime as a full-time dairy farmer along with raising beef cattle. He was a member of Portage County Farm Bureau and a 4-H dairy advisor for 14 years. He was a faithful and dedicated lifetime member of St. Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus.
When Pete wasn’t farming, he enjoyed bowling, playing euchre, and watching his grandchildren at their sporting and 4-H events. He also enjoyed showing cattle and attending the Randolph Fair, where he and his wife, Mary Jane were proudly named the 2016 Portage County Randolph Fair Senior King and Queen.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore (Randolph), Ohio 44260. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church on Monday, March 12 at 10 a.m. with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials made to Portage County Dairy 4-H Club; Suffield Fire Department; or St. Joseph Church.
