Harley N. McDaniel, age 88, passed away on September 1, 2018 and went home to be with the Lord.
Born in Akron to his parents, John and Wilma McDaniel, he lived in the Portage County area most of his life. Harley served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Chrysler Corporation after 32 years of service. He had attended both Fairhaven Baptist and Millheim Baptist Churches. Harley was a God-gifted artist, he loved boxing and was known for telling jokes. He always worked out to keep himself fit. Harley was a loving father and grandfather, and was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his wives, Doris A. (Hopkins) and Arvella; his son, Martin B.; three brothers, and two sisters, he is survived by his daughter, Brenda E. (Mark) Jones; granddaughter, Tammi (Don) Takacs; great-grandsons, Tyler and Jax; and special friend, Gladys.
Family and friends will be received Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312, where Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. with Pastors W. David Rosenberger and Scott Rockich officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
