Gregory Scott Garn “Grover”, age 48, joined his father in heaven on April 24, 2015.
Born in Akron, Greg lived in Hartville most of his life. He graduated from Lake High School and attended the University of Akron, where he played football. Greg was employed by Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters. He was a very loving and giving man. Greg was an avid hunter, fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father, William in 1992; grandparents; and uncle; Greg is survived by his mother, Diane J. Garn (nee Gibson); brother and best friend, Chad D. Garn; loving sister and friend, Sha L. Schutzbach (nee Garn) and her son, Gary Michael Schutzbach; friend and loving helper in guidance and faith, Dennis Graves; loving companion and soulmate, Diane L. Bendick; many dear nieces, nephews, family members and friends who meant the world to him; and the “bestest dog ever,” his buddy, Milo.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where funeral service will be held Thursday 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Should friends desire, memorial donations may be made to their favorite charity in Greg’s name.
