Gregory R. Cromley, 66, of Uniontown, Ohio, went home to the Lord on October 24, 2014 at City Hospital after a long illness.
Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Born in Akron, Greg graduated from Garfield High School. He played baseball, football and loved golf and bowling. Greg was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country proudly. He enjoyed all his VA friends. He leaves his beloved wife, Mary; daughter, Alexandra Cromley; his little lap dog, Winston; his sister, Beth Ann; brother, Mark Cromley; nephews, Ronald and Daniel (Michelle) Sims; niece, Kristle Sims; sister-in-law, Florence Wells; brother-in-law, Fred (Mary) Vardeman; step-daughters, Kristi (Paul) Lutz and Lisa (Chris) Smith; five grandchildren, Sam, Theresa, Ben Smith, Amelia and Bridget Lutz. They will miss him terribly.
Funeral service Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, with Rev. Steve Bucy officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post 8487. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society Northeast Region, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406.
