Gloria Ann Riddell

Gloria A. Riddell “Sis”, age 74, passed away peacefully at Akron City Hospital after a lifelong battle with Crohn’s disease on December 16, 2017. A life resident of Akron, Gloria was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed doing crafts, playing Bonco and loved spending time with her family. She especially loved her grandchildren, to whom she was very devoted and always making them the priority in her life. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Preceded in death by her father, Patrick Loftus. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Gerald; children, Donald (Karen) Halman, Tammy Cole, Nancy Stratton, Michael and Jerry Riddell; grandchildren, Marhya, Buddy, Courtney, Heather and Krystal; great-grandchildren, Aerian, Blake, Ernie, Ethan, Samson, Audri, Maxwell and one more on the way; mother, Juanita Loftus; brothers, James and Robert Loftus; sisters, Patricia Orlando and Jean Briggs; brother-in-law, Bob; and sister-in-law, Jackie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family and friends will be received Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Friday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312 with Pastor Michael Schaub officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Northeast Ohio Chapter, 4700 Rockside Road Suite 425 Independence, Ohio 44131.
