Glenn E. Mellinger

Our loving son, Glenn E. Mellinger Jr., 52, passed away February 7, 2015.

He was born in Akron and graduated from Ellet High School. Glenn was a life resident of the Akron/Uniontown area and was formerly employed with the Akron Beacon Journal. He was an avid sports fan and an area high school baseball coach.

Preceded in death by his brother, Mark A. Mellinger. He is survived by his wonderful and loving parents, Glenn and Judy; children, Bethany M., and Christopher “Cubby” Mellinger; brothers, Gregg (Gail), Scott, and Michael (Jody); nephews and niece, Matthew, Aja and Hunter Mellinger.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), where funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Russ O’Neill officiating. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery. Please arrive by 10:45 a.m.
