Gleana I. Koon

Gleana I. Koon, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2016. 

Born in Wileyville, W. Va., she was a member of and also retired from Ernest Angley’s Grace Cathedral. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl, one brother, and five sisters; she is survived by her daughter, Texie (Charles) Perkins; grandson, Robert (Ann); great-grandson, Mason; and sister, Mary Grimm. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 12 noon at Ernest Angley’s Akron Grace Cathedral, 1055 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. Chris Machamer officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Bibles for Africa, c/o Ernest Angley’s Grace Cathedral, P.O. Box 1790, Akron, OH 44309.
