Gladys V. Steinwand, 94, passed away October 12, 2014.
She was born in Rosby Rock, W. Va., lived most of her life in the Akron area and was employed over 20 years with Rogers Manufacturing. Gladys enjoyed Sunday dancing at the Kimbolton Firehouse, and had a love for collecting anything to do with horses. She enjoyed her grandchildren and her favorite gathering was at Christmas Eve with all her family.
Preceded in death by husband, Ray Steinwand; son, Gary Wells; ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons, Dave (Chrissy) Wells, Bob (Julie) Wells and Denny Wells (Jeanne); daughters, Edna (Dick) Raffle, Edith Wells, Debra (Mark) Saller and Sandy (Roy) Foutty; daughter-in-law, Bev Wells; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Delmar (Doris) Burkhart; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Magnolia Village in Wadsworth for the loving care they gave our mother over the years. An extra special thanks goes out to the ones that loved her like we did, you know who you are. Thank you to Medina Hospice for your care and empathy over the last few months. Also a special thanks to Dr. Fracasso for his care.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Saturday, 12 noon with Pastor Homer Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
