Gladys Ruth Hazlett

Gladys Ruth Hazlett passed away on July 12, 2013 at 97 years old.

She was born on February 28, 1916 in Belleville, Pennsylvania. Gladys retired from the Akron Water Department after many years in the Billing Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Henninger; her husband, Alvin (Butch); sisters, Annabelle Edwards, Mary Toot, Margaret Gentling, Jane Topper; brother, Ray; daughter-in-law, Hazel; and granddaughters, Janice and Joni. She is survived by sisters, Nell Kapel and Jean Galloway; and brother, Bill (Flo). Gladys is also survived by son, Howard; daughter, Shirley (Marvin); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A special thanks to her good friend, Juanita Mooney for all her devotion to Mom.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Reverend Steve Bucy of The Chapel officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Foundation to Aid the Poor, P.O.
