Geraldine (Ingold) Able

Geraldine (Ingold) Able entered through Heaven’s gates September 3, 2022 at the age of 98. Born in Mogadore, Ohio she had lived her entire life in the Akron area. Gerry was a lifelong member of Mogadore Christian Church, 50+ year member of Eastern Star, Craftsman Boat Club and Kenmore Senior Citizens.

WWII found her at Akron General Tire making life belts and selling war bonds. During the 50’s she helped her husband Cary found Nelson Woodson Maintenance Service. She was a girl Friday in all office tasks and beyond. Geraldine occupied her time being a great wife, mom and neighbor to all who knew her. Cooking, crafting and gardening were all done in great love for us. Many have received her yearly Christmas Cookie Boxes to their delight.

Preceded in death by Cary, her husband of 55 years; her parents and a sister. She is survived by son, Rusty and Debbie of Akron; daughter, Connie and Bob Sherrer of Traverse City, Michigan; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, Sarah, Dan, and Tom; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard Ingold of Pittsburgh, PA.

Friends and family will be received Monday, September 12^th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), OH 44312. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Eugene Higgins presiding. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
