Gerald "Jerry" Wayne McBroom

Gerald “Jerry” W. McBroom, age 87, went home to be with the Lord November 11, 2021. Jerry was born in Tennessee and lived in Mogadore most of his life. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend who loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jerry enjoyed gardening, his grandchildren, and race car driving. Recently, “A Day of the Heart” was organized by Incare Ohio Hospice at Good’s Raceway in Deerfield. Jerry was treated with celebrity status! He was able to race around the track and thoroughly enjoy a night at the races. Thank you to all who participated and organized this beautiful night! Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Scott(Ginger), Kevin, Crissy (Mark) Mudd, and Brian (Cathy); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. A special thank you to Incare Ohio and Maplewood Assisted Living for your love and amazing care! Friends and family will be received Monday, November 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m. with Chaplain Ed Morris officiating. Private entombment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
