Born May 24, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, Gerry went home to meet his maker February 13, 2015.
Born to Rose and Gerry Factor in Maple Heights, Ohio, he attended Maple Heights High School and Kent State University. He was in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 stationed in Mississippi and Portugal. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Fidler in 1968 and spent the next 47 years in love with her. He worked at Sears for 25 years, then worked in the auto industry until he retired in 2003.
Papa G lived his life for his family and friends. He was an avid artist and poet. He enjoyed working outdoors in his yard, walking around his lake, and painting; but mostly he enjoyed being with his four granddaughters.
He is survived by his adoring mother, Rose; his loving wife, Bonnie; his two children, Eric and Valerie and their spouses, Hope and Tony; and his four dear granddaughters, Erica, Payton, Marina and Makayla.
He will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio, in the spring at a private family ceremony. A life celebration and memorial will be held March 15, 2015 at Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 6979 Sunset Strip Ave. NW, North Canton, OH 44720, from 2 to 5 p.m. Donations can be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
